*WORK IN PROGRESS*
TEMPOSOSPESO

is a brand dedicated to publishing contemporary literature, both fiction and non-fiction.

As an independent Italian publishing house founded in 2023 by Massimo Angelini and Esther Weber,  we value the ten-years-experience of the former publishing house Pentàgora (2012-2022). We want to contribute to respond to a widespread need for authenticity, meaning and attachment to life: This is why we are promoting fiction in which people are stories and stories are made by life, but also reflections and points of view that are out of tune with the fashions and monocultures of our times, in order to publish books that we want to be nourishing, never ephemeral, if possible necessary.

WHERE WE ARE:

We live and work in a small mountain village in the Apennines near Genoa: few inhabitants – about twenty – with and without vegetable gardens, woods, silence, lots of wild animals (fallow and roe deer, badgers, foxes, wolves, porcupines, whitethroats), no shops or services and no possibility of distraction: but despite the steep and narrow, often wind-swept, tingling air until July, we always feel a bit on holiday.

Here we do our best to make high quality books, with care to the detail.

OUR VALUES:

Three values coexist in the background of our editorial work:

We like the rainbow of lifestyles, orientations and ideas (except those that deny the rainbow, hurt people, spread discrimination and intolerance, build walls in people’s heads and on the ground);

We do not accept vulgarity, sloppiness and aggressiveness when they arise from carelessness or are elevated to style;

We are attracted to culture when it is accessible to many (if not all) people and when it is oriented towards the common good.

OUR RULES:

We only publish books we fall in love with;
We do not charge authors for publication (nor do we ask them to buy copies);
We work closely and collaboratively with authors by editing their texts and
we consider translators to be co-authors and contributors;
Our prices are honest and cover costs, fees and author’s royalties:
For this reason we do not offer special sales prizes.
